The Candle Magick Workbook Why And How Candle Magick Works

The Candle Magick Workbook Why And How Candle Magick Works Cover

Book: The Candle Magick Workbook Why And How Candle Magick Works by Kala Pajeon

This book is for anyone thinking of joining a Coven, is a Solitary practitioner of Magick, or is really serious about their Magick Work. It is not a book of meaningless recipes where you have to trust that the author knows what they are doing and is not a rehash of light flowery vague information. The book teaches Why and How Magick really works, and why it can fail. A Fabulous Book!

I have been looking for a book to teach my beginning students how to safely perform magick and spells, and this book is beyond words. It is so rare to really find an author that knows what they are talking about and is willing to share their secrets with the world. A friend, that belongs to a Bay Area Coven, had raved about the book and that it was exactly what I needed for my students. He was right . . . If you want to really understand how and why magick works, and want to customize your own spells . . . I highly recommend this book.

It is one of the rare books that deliver and all the covens that I know of in my area make this book required reading. This is the best candle magick book I've read, and compared to at least one other, the most original. It does a fine job of covering basic theory of magick, visualization, aura and chakra cleansing procedures!, candle dressing and energizing!, oils, incense, time tables; this book is a DISCUSSION and one of the most important books I own. I can't wait for more of Kala & Ketz's works to become available. This is not just a candle magick book it is a MAGICK book.

This book showed me there was more to the subject of candle magick than the usual spell books that usualy show the reader a lot of "voodoo". This book covers everything from the history of candle burning to the proper setting and mood one should be in while engaging in candle magick. This book is a must read, weather or not the reader is looking for candle magick 'recipes' or an interesting new perspective at looking at life in general. This book is a very positive and insperational. I have found my self reading this book at times I was not even planing on lighting a candle.

Clothing Line Called Witches

Clothing Line Called Witches Cover Designers Lauren Alexander and Gabby Applegate are debuting a clothing line called Witches. Alexander co-designs another line, the hit basics label LnA, and joined forces with Applegate to create what she calls a Victorian goth collection. It’s got a lot of lace. The items will retail for up to $400 at Ron Herman. “Gabby and I would go out together always wearing all black and people called us the witches,” Alexander says. The line “is our idea of the modern witch.”

Models in the clothing are posed in tableaux vivants on the lawn, lounging on velvet furniture and in front of vanity tables. Though they look ready for a night at a dark wave club, the designers insist the clothing is good for everyday wear, too. “We wanted to design something that you can to just throw on, it’s easy,” Alexander says. For the on-the-go goth, I guess.

It’s Friday the 13th and I’m as the sun goes down, surrounded by black rose petals, red candles, fake black crows, and red velvet cupcakes :)

Seven Sermons To The Dead Written By Basilides In Alexandria

Seven Sermons To The Dead Written By Basilides In Alexandria Cover

Book: Seven Sermons To The Dead Written By Basilides In Alexandria by Carl Gustav Jung

The Seven Sermons to the Dead was written by Carl Gustav Jung between December 15, 1916 and February 16, 1917 under the pseudonym "Basilides of Alexandria". Jung chose the name of a gnostic writer who taught in Alexandria around A.D. 125-140. It was a custom for Authors of spiritually oriented material to attribute the authorship to someone they felt to be their superior on the subject.

Jung distributed this material to a few of his friends and seemed to publicly reject the label of "gnostic". It can be argued, though, that Jung's model of human psychology is but a 20th century gnosticism. As with everything else, interpret this material symbolically, not literally. Indeed, the very subject of the First Sermon warns us of the same.

Jung creates some unique images, such as "mother heaven" and "father earth" along with his attempt to warn us against giving ourselves over to one archetype. They are there for us to use on our path of individuation, not to be worshipped as THE god / Goddess as the non-gnostic Christians have done (the "dead").

Blessed Be.

* Sermon One (The dead came back from Jerusalem, where they did not find what they were seeking.)
* Sermon Two (During the night the dead stood along the walls and shouted: "We want to know about god!)
* Sermon Three (The dead approached like mist out of the swamps and they shouted: "Speak to us further about the highest god!")
* Sermon Four (Grumbling, the dead filled the room and said: "Speak to us about gods and devils, thou accursed one!")
* Sermon Five (The dead were full of mocking and cried: "Teach us, thou fool, about church and holy community!")
* Sermon Six (The demon of sexuality comes to our soul like a serpent.)
* Sermon Seven (At night the dead came back again and amidst complaining said: "One more thing we must know, because we had forgotten to discuss it: teach us concerning man!")

Elemental Work

Elemental Work Cover
Experiment to make spirits of the air manifest:

The rite to summon spirits of the air to visible appearance within a triangle, with a circle around in, and inside it, with a dot in the middle of it having been drawn on chalk, and then drawn with the athame, was successful. I could see wisps of smokelike beings, which cohesed into a more or less solid looking body, which pulsated and changed shape. The image would change if I began exerting some desire for a particular appearance.
