Say Hello And Get To Know Theresa Of Faerie Moon Creations

Say Hello And Get To Know Theresa Of Faerie Moon Creations
ELEANOR ROOSEVELT SAID, "THE FUTURE BELONGS TO THOSE WHO BELIEVE IN THE BEAUTY OF THEIR DREAMS."

"

BELIEVE MIXED MEDIA ART"

I admire and respect this philosophy. I also respect and admire those who dream a thing and then bring that dream to reality. My friend Theresa, owner and artist of Faerie Moon Creations encompasses that very ideology with her work. Magical, delightful, and absolutely original and innovative, her art always brings a smile to my face; no matter what the day has brought to me. Her creations have a dreamlike quality to them and a major theme that runs throughout is"BELIEVE". KIM OF WINTER SOLSTICE DREAMS (KIM): "Hi Theresa ofFAERIE MOON CREATIONS! Please let the readers know a little bit about what you create."

THERESA OF FAERIE MOON CREATIONS (THERESA): My name is Theresa, and I live with my hubby and two dogs in Central Connecticut. I create whimsical and fun jewelry inspired by nature, faeries and folklore. Most of my jewelry pieces are one of a kind because I want the person who wears them to feel special. I also create mixed media art pieces featuring pretty folk art girls and faeries. Each girl definitely has their own personality - so I hope that they win the hearts of whimsy lovers both young and old. I offer the original art pieces for sale, as well as bookmarks and pendant necklaces. Prints will be coming soon, I promise!

KIM: "Please tell us the "birth story" of your Etsy shop."

THERESA: My shop officially opened in August of 2009. I had been yearning to do something more creative with my life, as I was beginning to feel stagnated. I have always had an artistic background, ever since I was a young girl. My family and friends had always urged me to sell my creations, but for some reason I never went through with it. I think it was mostly fear of failure. I started out so simply - with little glass pendants with digital images affixed to ball chains. As I gained confidence, I began to offer our original jewelry designs. When I saw how enthusiastically those pieces were received, I branched out last year and started offering my art for sale.

"

EVERY GIRL IS A PRINCESS"

KIM: "What is your favorite item to create and why?"

THERESA: I really enjoy creating my mixed media art pieces. I feel the girls represent different parts of me personally, and I hope that translates in the finished art that you see. As I mentioned, each piece definitely has its own distinct personality, which I hope resonates with each and every person

KIM: Is there an item in your shop you're selling but you will be sad to see it go?"

THERESA: It's funny that you mention this, because there was a item that meant so much to me personally. I poured my heart and soul into Ella the Butterfly Faerie. At one point, I nearly gave up on her because she wasn't turning out exactly as I had originally envisioned. But I kept at it and worked harder than I ever had before. When I finally finished her, I was so happy with the results. I believe that art is to be shared. After all, why create it if no one can see it. So, I put her up for sale, and she received a lot of positive attention. But there were no takers. I even recently toyed with the idea of taking her out of the shop and just keeping her for myself. Then fate took over! My sweet Ella was featured in this treasury {http://www.etsy.com/treasury/4dc7fc4b905c6d915bcae581/butterflys-ball?ref=pr treasury } several days ago, and someone saw Ella there and loved her enough to purchase her and give her a wonderful new home. I am overjoyed! Even though Ella will be leaving me, her spirit remains and she plays a prominent part in my shop and blog design.

KIM:" Where do you see your business going in the next five years?"

"

BLUESY LITTLE HOOTS"

THERESA: I would like to continue to grow both personally and professionally. I actively seek out new art techniques, and I try to keep my jewelry designs fresh and fun. I am currently in the process of looking into printing options for my art work. And I'm also toying with the idea of offering some of my photography for sale, as well. My ultimate goal is to make people smile and keep them happy. I'd love to make Faerie Moon Creations a full-time job. I truly believe success comes from hard work, and I am willing to work hard to make my dreams come true.

KIM:" One more question: If you could host a dinner party, and invite ANYONE (living or dead), who would it be and why? "

THERESA: What a FUN question! My guest list is kind of eccentric...I think that I would invite Alice Liddell (the inspiration behind Alice in Wonderland), Jane Austen (one of my favorite authors), Tim Burton (for Nightmare Before Christmas is my all time favorite film), Viggo Mortensen (one of my favorite actors and the epitome of Aragorn from Lord of the Rings), Bono (U2 is one of my favorite bands and I so admire him as a person and activist), Kate Bush (one of my favorite singers and a living faerie queen) - and my hubby, of course. ;) I think the conversations we'd have would be amazing!

SIMPLY USE COUPON CODE FEATURE15 AT CHECKOUT (THIS MUST BE ENTERED IN ORDER FOR THE DISCOUNT TO BE PROCESSED)." The offer is good through "Thursday, "May 19, 2011"."
